It did exactly what I was looking for, and was far cheaper than the options at my local store. Glad I took the risk.
Has completed my room set up and the audio is great. Would be great to have instructions in video or similar.
Use this for my late 1990s Technics amplifier, which does not support any wireless connection. Good sound quality, connection is good as long as it is on line of sight.
A quality transmitter
The cons is it does not has battery built in. It is powered through +5V DC USB. You need to have power source nearby or a long USB cable for this.
The USB power supply required is BYO though.
The product manual/User Guide contains all the basic information required. It does *not*, however, contain the procedure to clear the Bluetooth pairing list. Luckily TaoTronics' e-mail support was prompt and extremely helpful in providing the additional information.
The unit works well and seems to handle connections to 1 or 2 Bluetooth headsets simultaneously without issue.
I do not use the RX (Receive) functionality but the TX (transmit) functionality works more than adequately for my requirements.
I'm very happy with this unit and would recommend it to others.
There isn't aptX Low Latency on any of my devices, not even my Bose Home Speaker 500 but this had the minimal latency of anything I've tried. There's still a slight lag in audio to video but it's barely noticeable.
This is using the digital optical toslink but volume is very low. Had to turn up the volume significantly on the receiving device.
Analog wasn't good but that may have been the analog port on the tv the transmitter is connected to..
This bluetooth audio transmitter has been the best option to transmit audio from my PC to my bluetooth headphones. I hook up the audio transmitter to the optical-out on my PC using the included optical cable.
Bluetooth pairing is very quick and has never failed unlike with the several USB bluetooth dongles I have used. However, everytime I turn off the bluetooth transmitter, upon turning it on, I will have to repair again. Since pairing to my headphones is fast, this is only a minor annoyance, but it would be great if it remembered the pairing to my headphones.
One issue I had when I first used the audio transmitter was that no audio was transmitted when I used the Netflix app on Windows 10, when the transmitter was connected to my PC via optical or standard cable. This was not an issue with other programs (e.g. Youtube on all browsers, Windows system sound). I soon realised that it was a Windows 10 audio configuration problem. I had to go into Sound settings, and in Realtek Digital Output Properties, make sure I uncheck Dolby DTS and Dolby DIgital. So, I am assuming that the bluetooth transmitter is not compatible with Dolby encoding formats that the Windows Netflix app was using. I am glad I sorted this out, otherwise I would have considered returning the product as I mainly use my PC for watching Netflix.
Battery life is adequate for my use. I mainly use the transmitter plugged in, but it has lasted up to 5 hours of continuous broadcast with still battery power left in it. I have never completely depleted the battery.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this bluetooth transmitter. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I use the transmitter with Optical line in, so the audio quality is extremely good as long as you have good quality bluetooth headphones. The range is also adequate for walking around an 80 meter square house. I have absolutely not experience any audio-syncing issues. I will probably buy a second one soon to use purely as a receiver for a pair of wire speakers I have.
