The thermostats in my flat do not have what the actual air temperature is, so I decided to seek out a thermostat/humidity measurement device. I happened to stumble on this one while perusing Black Friday deals. When it arrived I was actually surprised by how small it was, because the initial two images from the product page were the ones that stuck in my head. But, I am really glad for its size. It is large enough to be able to clearly read the display from >2m away. But small enough to not be inconvenient. The only thing that I would change is that instead of having "wet" as the higher humidity display, I would choose "damp" or "humid".

This little unit is perfect for the indoor plant lover as it has all the functions you need - current/min/max relative humidity and temperature. There's a reset button on the back so you can measure the minimum and maximum values in an area over a day or so, reset it, then measure a different room.

Does a little diffuser increase the humidity? How long does it stay humid for in the bathroom after a shower? Do pebble trays really raise the humidity? Do heaters affect the humidity for your plants? Is it more humid in your north facing room or your southern room? Do plants placed together create a higher humidity microenvironment? It's highly addictive learning this stuff and I now know the answers to these because of this hygrometer. So buy one and you will too! It's simple and easy to use and the quality is great. You won't be disappointed.

I am sceptical of this thermometer works properly. I've moved it from inside to outside in the current Canberra winter and it didn't move much and it changed temps VERY SLOWLY. It's definitely colder outdoors in the middle of Canberra then indoors. It never drops below 9deg in my house even though I don't use heating and I can see my breath when I exhale. I'm going to suggest mine does not work properly after conducting these experiments.

I checked the temperate via the Bureau of Meteorology app at around 6 am this morning. It was a chilly 10 degrees (centigrade or Celsius) This thing was telling me it was 20 degrees. There was no way it was 20 degrees. Similar thing in summer. This would day it was maybe 28 degrees, the BOM app would say 35 degrees.

I wouldn't waste my money on this or if you do buy one and it doesn't work properly return it before the return window is closed.

No fancy display colours or hard to see numerals or extraneous information like date, time, etc. Just the humidity and temperature in large high contrast numerals, with an easily resettable max/min display.

The quality of the plastic moulding and assembly is obvious; probably not completely necessary, but it indicates the care made in manufacturing this device.

It's not my first iTronics/ThermoPro measuring instrument but it will be the first brand I look at when I need more.

It is easy to see the max and min temperatures since the last reset, the reset is easily done with a button on the back side.
The measurement seems good, they are easy to interpret and easy to read from an angle.

For the price, it's no brainer. It gives very clear display of both temperature and humidity. If there is a clock built in, then it will be fantastic., i.e. 6 star. Bought another one, model TP-55. When they were put side by side to compare readings, the results spotted on, i.e. identical. This shows the products are made to high quality standard and accuracy.

I can't necessarily test it's accuracy but it does seem to be reasonably accurate in terms of temperature and humidity just from comparing to what the temperature and humidity feels like. Very easy to read and is super easy to switch between °C and °F with a button on the rear for this function. There's a magnet for if you want to mount this on a fridge and there's a kickstand for if you want to put it on a desk.

The only thing that an upgraded model would benefit from is a backlight which could be switched on or off (or even make use of a light sensor). However, this would obviously impact on the impressive battery life of this unit.
