This Novella was an easy read on a workday, with the right amount of fantasy, intrigue, and a potential for romance. But prepare to be left at the edge of your seat. I was tricked with the anthology reviews that this might be standalone-ish. It is merely a preview to a full length series. It is frustrating not knowing when or if the series will be finished nor how it fares amongst the writer’s other ongoing works. But I think it is a great start and hopefully there is more to come soon. Read to show your support and just hang on until the series is continued eventually.
This book has an excellent plot, interesting characters and world-building that is well planned out and not at all boring! BUT. For whatever reason, the author decided to rush the story, so instead of being an absolute five star book, it falls flat. The climax and big reveal are anti-climactic and predictable. It’s like half way through writing it the author decided she was done, and the story took a turn, but not for the better. The novella length book is good (could’ve been great!) , but not worth the money as it’s so short.
I received a copy of this book from the Author, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this story! I love this author’s writing style. I felt pulled in from the beginning. This is a fast-paced novella that is easy to get into. This book is full of Fae, Wraiths, and Dragons. Oh my! Sorry I just had to. I really liked Zemira’s character and dI can not wait to continue with this series. The Novella itself is only 110 pages so I am not going to say anything so as not to spoil the story for you.
I realized that I really need to read more by this author.
Oh, and now I have a new favorite phrase: cauldrons piss.
I don't think I've read a single book from this author I disliked. For whatever reason. Regardless of genre she writes in, the world she builds, her characters, writing style, energy, everything is amazing. This one sucked me in from word one. It's rare to have a feeling I'm moving with characters as if I'm one of them, in them. Like I'm watching 4D movies but more. It's hard to explain but it happens often with her stories. And I cherish each and every one. This one however, is one of my favourites. And I have no idea when the next one is coming. And now I have to wait. Please don't let me wait too long.....
Omg. I can not wait for the next book. This book kept me hooked. Lots of fae romance out there but Bec keeps hers original and refreshing. Kier is just as he reads - possessive and predatory. Zamira is smart and real. Can’t wait to see how their story develops.
