There is no real way to articulate how life-changing a head-injury is, it is like trying to explain the intricacies of, and why human fingerprints are all different, and in uniqueness, we are not unique. That is a long-story-short hahaha
After listening to JayShetty talking with Dave Aspery on Bulletproof Radio, well I bought it on my kindle while listening. Jay - who has written so beautifully and eloquently, like his speech - has provided a calming space while navigating my hectic head-injured life. I am always on the lookout for techniques to ease the burden of my experience and gain more energy. I will be recommending JayShetty's book to everyone.
Love JayShetty , I listen to their podcast and adore it so inspiring and helpful ! Love the book so easy to read and lots of great tools I hope every one reads it, it's the true shift humanity needs. Great work jay !
I stumbled on to JayShetty a few months back out of pure luck and it could not have happened at a better time. Spending time listening to some podcasts and interviews I realised that he is one of the greatest inspirations around today. When I saw he was releasing a book I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and neither could my wife. I can honestly say this will remain in my collection for the rest of my life and I will revisit it regularly. The writing style is like Jay is there next to you and it flows so effortlessly. There is so much good information and advice for all peoples of all ages and backgrounds. This will no doubt become one of the great classics.
I followed JayShetty on Facebook for months, let’s face it, he’s not only super hot but I love the wise words of wisdom on relationships and life he comes out with. I never normally read books, I’m a busy working single mum of four. Probably not the most educated either, but I thought I’d give it and shot anway and I told myself I will just do one page a day. I’m absolutely loving reading this book. It’s very in-depth, easy to understand and Nice to read so far. It feels wonderful to take a short moment out of my busy life to spend it on reading on how to be a better version of me, and hopefully by this, create a better life for myself. Also, working on ‘’me’ gets my attention off my slightly disastrous relationships status. “They say” you have to find happiness in yourself first and then things will fall into place naturally so hopefully this is the beginning of my journey. I’m only 10 pages in but definitely loving it so far. Also the book is big and is excellent quality!! What a bargain. Thank you Jay for your wise words of wisdom. Wish me luck ! 🍀 Eva
I've been following JayShetty and his wonderful way of making ancient wisdom topics relevant to today's world for a while now. If you are looking for a memoir or autobiography - this is not it. If you are looking for more purpose, joy and gratitude in you life then start reading now! In Think Like a Monk, Jay touches on his living as a monk and weaves his interactions with his fellow monks and the lessons he has learned throughout the pages and educates the reader as to how these teachings can be incorporated into your daily life. As is his usual way - he breaks down topics into small chunks and takes the reader on a journey of self-exploration to find more meaning, purpose and joy in their daily life. If you have read or watched a lot of self-development information - then there is probably a lot in this book that you already know - however, the writing style is very much Jay, and he puts his own spin of teaching and explaining the topics within so they still feel fresh. If you are new to Jay and/or self exploration - then I highly recommend you give this book a go. It's thought provoking, and the information is easy to digest and implement into your life immediately.
Topics covered: Part One - Let Go 1. Identity 2. Negativity 3. Fear 4. Intention
Part Two- Grow 5. Purpose 6. Routine 7. The Mind 8. Ego
Part Three - Give 9. Gratitude 10. Relationships 11. Service
I Pre ordered this book as I follow jayshetty on social media & his videos are so inspiring. I don’t often read, but this was a must! & wow it did not disappoint. Although I am only on the 3rd chapter in the book, already it has changed my mindset. I live a busy lifestyle being a single mum with 2 children but sitting down to read this book in the evenings is truly satisfying. When reading jays words i feel like I’m not alone anymore & that not knowing what path you are on is ok, that gives you time to work & better yourself. Thank you so much jay! I highly recommend this book to anyone who ever has self-doubt & feels lost. I can’t wait to read deeper into the book & implement the things I have learnt into my life
I was eagerly awaiting think like a monk and was not disappointed received today.I read through the introduction and felt mind set shifting. Started onto chapter one I am what I think I am something inside me started to change. I realise the person I was married to and broke up with 4 years ago I was grieving for someone I didn’t even like and never really loved, yet I’d felt guilty not loving. I’d Ok at him feel sorry for being so broken It took to reading this to really shift my mind set. I realised I had lost my true self and my happiness had gone,. I realised I was in a relationship a marriage with someone who was not on the same wavelength intellectually and spent 18 years with someone I was not alligned with and did not respect or even love, he needed to be loved so sacrificed myself but inside I was drowning and in pain. I was mourning the life I had lost before I met him which causing me deep depression anxiety and unhappiness. I felt a shift that my inner self was telling me I was not alligned and it was ok now to let go. I found during being discarded hurtful but then it set me free set me on a new journey. I got a special artist gift I want explore, this book is a must have it’s better to have the physical book no other book out there like this and is more empowering than any book out there and reading really reaches you deep on a cellular level. If I’m getting this shift after just a few pages I can’t wait to read the rest. I cannot ever thank jay for dedicating so much time to write this book it’s unreal and done with so much compassion and love. I suffered for almost 2 decades with someone unsuitable reading just one chapter and now I’m fixed jay has healed me and hope if jayshetty reads this I want to personally say thank you. Through amazon sadly I couldn’t afford to pay for genius anymore , but miss the community. Buy this book it’s more than a book it changes lives
I've done my first pass through and thoroughly enjoyed reading Jay's personal insights and know that this book will require several readings, I'm going to keep this on my bedside unit, with a pen handy, because there are just so many wonderful gems and ideas in "Think like a Monk".
JayShetty has written a great little book that will help transform the way you look at things as well as providing life-changing practices that can help you enjoy this journey we call life... I have a second copy which I will share with my friends and family...
Damn...🤍this is the best book I’ve ever read. The cover picture of this book is amazing. You don’t have to be a monk to think like a monk. Well, this book teaches us a lot .. When you think like a monk you’ll understand: How to stop overthinking, How to use fear, how to overcome negativity, why comparison kills love, how to use your fear, why you are not your thoughts, how to find your purpose, why you can’t find happiness by looking for it, how to learn from everyone you meet, why kindness is crucial to success and much more...
At first I will say that yaa I have read alot of books and still I am continuing but I had a wish that came to my mind after reading alchemist , that we do know how to realize our dreams and what path we should choose but in today's world when life is full of problems and toxicity we need to motivate ourselves for not giving up on anything which will make us feel alive. So think like a monk is that kind of book which will always help us and make us remember our self worth and how to tackle each situation and how to follow our dreams without any hesitation and how to be successful and happy. We all know about jayshetty and his videos podcast but this book will also make us remember everyday how to live a life with our own purpose and what is the real meaning of true happiness. I hope after reading this book we all will repeat it again and again so that we never forget what we learnt from this book. This book is much needed in this society and for the coming years too...read it slowly and patiently then it will be effective. Give it a shot!
