Great book and fantastic that it contains a thomas mini but once you've removed the thomas toy the book backing either has the plastic casing stuck to it or if you remove it you destroy the books cover.
Im returning this and buying the book only version with a normal book cover.

We received this as a gift for my son’s 3rd birthday and he loves it so much that I’ve now bought 2 more for friends. It’s not as thick as first appears (the back 3rd of the book is actually cardboard!) but the character information itself is comprehensive and interesting. Who knew there were so many trains?! A huge hit!

Our Thomas mad boys adore this book! So many great facts about all the engines! My only criticism is that it doesn't need the toy Thomas on the top in the plastic casing. To account for this, the back cover of the book is about a cm thick and it makes it hard for the little ones to hold. We've actually removed the toy Thomas and the plastic box and the thick back cover and taped it all back up again so we can continue to use it! Such as shame as the contents of the book are enough, it doesn't need the gimick to sell it.

This will be a Christmas present for our Thomas obsessed son but having looked through, I can see that he will love it and probably drive us crazy with his requests for us to read it lol.
There's lots of information about quite a few of the trains but due to the free train I'm guessing, the last 3rd of the books is actually a cardboard block.
