This book is poorly written with a thin and barely believable plot. The plot twist is frankly silly and the end drags out to the point where you just want the experience to be over. The character backstories give the impression of only being there to satisfy the Clancy model and do not add to meaningful character development or the plot. I own every Clancy book and have read them multiple times. This one is going straight to the trash.

I've read and enjoyed many of the Jack Ryan Jnr novels, but this one is dreadful. A ridiculous plot with cartoon villains. I was so underwhelmed I actually gave up on it with only a few pages left to go, because I didn't care how it ended. Avoid.

A recent Tom Clancy book reviewed by me made much criticism of this author and his writing. There is no way he can compete with Tom Clancy and he should be ashamed for using this great author's name in order to make money. His stories are nothing like Clancy and I really object to see the cover of a "new" Tom Clancy book with that author's name in large letters while this author's name in small letters.
It is certainly not worth spending money on this book. One chapter chapter begins with the name of a USA serviceman and his rank as Lieutenant Corporal. Where on earth is that rank in any of the US armed forces? Where is that rank in any armed service?
