Bought this for a upcoming family holiday.

Even though the original Toshiba app works, I often get cut out.

In the end, I bought the FAir app which works better and stable.
By combining with Lightroom, my wife is able to download the pictures in RAW format and post it on her social media.

It did not work! After several hours Of testing and web searches there is nothing l can do to get it to work on my Nikon D800E. I can get my friends eyefi to work so my only conclusion is Toshiba card malfunction.

My DSLR is now 6 years old and a newer WiFi enabled version isn’t in my budget right now. I haven’t been using it as much, primarily because it isn’t convenient to get the photos off when I want to share them on the go. That all changed today with the arrival of this card. A couple of things I found. There were no English instructions in the box. There is the odd English word which helped me figure out that I needed to download the “FlashAir” app. The other thing was that my camera didn’t initially let me use the card. Googling helped me figure out that I had to update the firm wear on my camera. Once I did that it worked. Neither of those things detract from the additional functionality this provides to my camera. Looking forward to using my camera once again.

Decent WiFi SD card

As a standard SD card, it performs reasonably well. As a WiFi card, it was tricky to setup but not impossible. A couple of YouTube videos and a blog or two and I have it connected to my WiFi. The Toshiba configuration tools are not only difficult to find/download they are virtually utterly useless as they don't allow you to fully delve into the device's advanced features (i.e. AES PSK keys). The configuration tool of choice for this SD card is Notepad (yup, good 'ol trusty Notepad).

I use these cards in my 3D printers so that I can drag-n-drop GCODE to them and avoid the "SD card shuffle" (remove from printer, insert into PC, copy files over, remove from PC, insert into printer).

My only gripe with these cards is that the WiFi does shut off after a certain amount of time (they no longer appear on my router's list of WiFi devices and are unresponsive to network pings). Removing and reinserting the SD card from the device it's in does not force it to reconnect to the WiFi network. Only a full power cycle from the device that it's in does that (will have to investigate that further).

Wifi card for D800, providing decent wifi transfer

Installed on Nikon D800. In order to have wifi on it requires the display monitor to be on, so i recommend to set the preview to 1 min. The phone app will show no connection until the display comes on , then in few seconds the connection is established and the photos on so card can be previewed on the phone, eventually selected and downloaded then further shaded online via Skype, flickr, etc. I wish the wifi icon was on on the display at least during the transfer and i wish the connection would stay on, but i guess that it draws battery p[ower so it needs to get off. Transfer speeds are within 10 seconds per jpeg.

I bought this to use in the second card slot in my Nikon D7000 to save files in JPEG for quick and easy transfer to my phone to post to social media. I would give this card five stars across the board if it had better instructions to connect to my phone easily and seamlessly. The major upside of this card is it will turn an older camera into a Wifi capable device at a fraction of the cost of Nikon adapters.
