The GS305P is a very nice POE switches. I have purchased various of these POE switches due to their excellent pricepoint over the years, but seems that all of them (at least the ones I have) have the same problem. When extending a network cable from main internet switch to the Netgear GS305P, I kept getting intermittent network connections with the GS305P. I thought it was an issue with the "older" GS305P POE switch I had, but the brand new one had same issues, even though the network cables were checking OK with cable tester and distance between switch was brought down to about 50 meters (150ft). Finally I connected a short patch cable between a Cisco SG110D-08 and the GS305P POE. The Cisco solved all my intermittent network connectivity problems for 2 days in a row already. Now I am again running 4 POE cameras with 100% uptime :-) BOTTOM LINE: 1. the Netgear GS305P is an excellent POE switch, but with limited reach on extended network cables!!! 2. The GS305P network connectivity problems seam to manifest itself more with higher ambient temperatures.
Works well so far. Have had it for about a month. Te 5 port 55w POE switch. It's powering a Omada OC-200 and two Omada EAP-225's with no issues so far. Since i'm using omada i probably should have used the TL-SG2008P from TP link since i could have managed the switch as well. For the money for the 4 ports of poe it works for me.
They word it as if the switch is gigabit but this is only 10/100 they claim 1.2 Gb/s but they mean 10/100 full duplex (up and down) x 6 ports there are plenty of 10/100/1000 switches with POE out there this is not one of them no mater how they word it.
