Jeanne M. Dams has lived n South Bend, Indiana, all her life. Her love of England was born of almost obsessive reading of English mysteries from an early age, and was cemented by a brief visit to London after her graduation from Purdue University. Many years and many visits later, she continues to love the British Isles and especially their people. She is also interested in history, has written one historical series, and is beginning another.

After encountering a man who soon becomes a corpse, Dorothy enlists friends and calls in favours to go undercover in what could prove a very dangerous situation. Uncertainty, frustration and fear - Jeanne M Dams keeps the reader guessing to the very end. Another delightful mystery featuring middle-aged super-sleuth Dorothy Martin.

I love the character of Dorothy.
Her disregard for some rules as she goes about her investigation . D is a very feisty lady .
Onto the next book I’m hooked !

Disappointing

This is the fifth Dorothy Martin book that I’ve read (I like to read books of a series in the right order) and I have to confess that I was rather disappointed in this one. The beginning couple of chapters setting the scene and ‘introducing’ the body seemed very promising but the subsequent plot development didn’t grab my attention. Another body was later thrown in for good measure (rather unnecessarily, I felt, for all the impact it made ) but in the end I wasn’t convinced by the ‘why’ or ‘how’ of the murder. If this had been the first Dorothy Martin book I had read, I wouldn’t bother to read any more, but as the first four were gripping reads, I hope that Ms Dams returns to form in the next in the series.

Good cozy mystery series!!!

Dorothy takes the train to London, and only she can find a dead body on the train, but when she tries to find out who it was, she's surprised to find out it's not been reported, according to the Police, there was no dead body on the train!
Of course she has to investigate, which means spending time in London with her friends, and getting a job!
Cozy mystery series, all standalone stories but as the main characters evolve over the series, the books are best read in order. I have the next in the series ready to read, thanks to Kindle Unlimited, I can download with abandon!!!

Dorothy Martin, Anglophile and sometime amateur sleuth, finds herself embroiled in a mystery once again. When her train companion is found dead Dorothy senses that there is more to the matter than meets the eye. With Alan away, Dorothy takes matters into her own hands. Enjoyable cosy crime with a likeable protagonist and a colourful cast of supporting characters. A worthy addition to this very entertaining series.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this novel for the most part. The ending however, seemed rather rushed. There was no clear explanation of his Dorothy figured it out. Also, the involvement of the police seemed to happen with very little effort. More could have been made of that element.
