Dixie Dixon - Fashion Photographer Review
As a fashion and commercial photographer, color is everything. And that's why I love the new Viewsonic VP2468 Monitor and Xrite calibration kit- renders colors beautifully and makes my work more vibrant than ever- bright, crisp, true to color, and has no glare that distracts from the image. I love the seamless design (edge to edge), performance and the ability to change the angles of the monitor to fit my vertical images full screen.

However, I quickly noticed that the outer ~10 pixels of the monitor had viewing angles that made them fade to black if my head was closer than 40 cm to the monitor. This means that if you crane forwards to focus on a detail of your screen, border details such as scrollbars start to disappear!
After working with Viewsonic support, I was advised this is by design - which surprised me given the target market for this product being detailed focused professionals.
Unless you plan on never having your head closer than 60cm from your screen AND you require professional grade colour / brightness reproduction - I cannot think of a scenario where this monitor makes any sense.

Not hacked off enough to return it to Amazon as sound isn't hugely important to my main use of the pc, but it'd be really, really nice if having spent £565, the bloody speakers worked. I can see them in Windows Devices, but............
For gaming this has two options that improve response time and input latency and they don't actually introduce negative ghosting or anything like that. The UFO ghosting tests perform really well (keep in mind I'm coming from old IPS monitors I've had for years). This is great if you're comfortable with 60Hz. Input latency and response time are good enough for CSGO play at a good level (AK1 isn't that bad, is it?)
The only thing I'd say is, the HDR10 mode looks a bit dull on quite a few games I tested. The peak luminance just isn't bright enough for it to look really good. I may be doing something wrong, but regular SDR often looks far better on this for that reason. Obviously the general 10-bit capability is good for Photoshop and professional work, just take the "HDR10 Mode" setting with a pinch of salt. The backlight can't physically get bright enough for whites to pop out (and the blacks can't get dark enough). What can I say? "HDR" is an unstandardised mess.
Of course, it depends on the specific HDR content you view. HITMAN 2 and BF5 do get a good boost in saturation and colour depth but with the sacrifice of contrast, it brings the blacks up and the whites down far too much. Take what you will from my inexperience with HDR content.
My specific model has some kind of problem at the bottom that looks like someone bashed it or something. Where the bezel meets the outside casing it has warped out. This issue has created two clouded areas on the screen at the bottom as if a finger is constantly pressing on the LCD that show up when a black screen is shown. I'm returning this one for another of the same model because I like it so much and I'm hopeful the new one won't have this issue. Fingers crossed.
After ordering a second one, it also had warped bottom bezel problems. That's a QC issue, or maybe these warp over time. Lame.
Although I still have two screens on my desk I hardly need the second one as 27inches gives acres of space for multiple separate windows.
I am hugely impressed with the accuracy of the colours of the garden flowers I photograph. Thoroughly recommend.
My only gripe is that the auto-rotate software seems flaky at best, but given that I didn't buy it for that functionality (and I'd rarely use it in portrait mode anyway), then it doesn't warrant losing a star.
Oh, and as an occasional gamer, it's held up perfectly well for the games I play :-)
