I purchased this monitor to replace a BenQ PD3200U that shipped with a faulty DisplayPort input. So when I plugged this monitor in, and it worked out of the box, I was relieved. Colour and brightness calibration seemed comparable, but not quite to the same level as the BenQ - but good enough for my purposes.
However, I quickly noticed that the outer ~10 pixels of the monitor had viewing angles that made them fade to black if my head was closer than 40 cm to the monitor. This means that if you crane forwards to focus on a detail of your screen, border details such as scrollbars start to disappear!
After working with Viewsonic support, I was advised this is by design - which surprised me given the target market for this product being detailed focused professionals.
Unless you plan on never having your head closer than 60cm from your screen AND you require professional grade colour / brightness reproduction - I cannot think of a scenario where this monitor makes any sense.
I use it with my 2015 macbook pro retina for reading pdf, programming, and watch youtube videos. I set the view mode to macbook and the colors turns out pretty well. Don't expect it to look like your retina display, but it's good enough for me.
I mainly bought it for the auto-pivot feature, which can only be used if the Viewsonic software is installed, opened/activated and the setting is turned on. The Screen-split feature automatically works for my primary 55" 4K monitor and not for the intended secondary Viewsonic monitor. Not only is the feature useless for the Viewsonic it doesn't work correctly on my primary 55" 4k monitor anyway. On another note, I don't own any color calibration device so I can't really speak on that. Bottom line, it's simply a regular 27" 4K monitor with auto-pivot.
This pair of VP2468 H2 monitors are exactly what we needed. Out of the box the two are identical in color, etc. to the naked eye. Black is very well balanced across the entire surface as well. They came with individual color calibration sheets which were very close to each other "on paper". We mounted them on a Vivo clamp on, two monitor stand. We're using the Displayport MTS connections. This does require MTS to be manually turned on. Easy, once you find it under the main menu. The rear mounted menu buttons are our only minor complaint, as access is limited, especially to the left monitor's buttons when it is up against the right monitor. But really... once it's setup, how often do you need to access the buttons? The no-foam, mostly cardboard packaging is HUGELY appreciated as we are trying to lessen our environmental impact. The Vivo mount is similarly packaged as well. We're doing editing of worship services and special events for broadcast in Adobe Premiere with a relatively high performance Dell Optiplex. Upgraded AMD RX550, M.2 boot drive, SSD storage, 32GB of ram, 9th gen i7, Focusrite 4i4, JBL 305P mkII and M-Audio AV-30 monitors. 2x24" monitors are plenty of screen space, and the color is spot on. Two screen setup is definitely a big boost in productivity for office style work as well. We're just a few days in at this point. I'll post again if there are any issues, but as of now... we couldn't be happier. Thanks View Sonic!
I was excited to move from 3 - 23" screens to 2 larger ones, but was hesitant to go all the way to 32" screens. But I think it was a good choice. I use 2 of these on a 2019 Mac Pro, and they work great. Nice color. Adjustable brightness. Crisp picture quality. I don't use the speaker system, but it sounds decent.
I do have to scale the resolution up quite a bit so that I can read everything (the default is WAY too small), but I do not see an issue with performance in doing so, and I still feel like I have MORE than plenty of room in all my creative programs (design, motion graphics, video editing). Also, the bases are fantastic in their adjustability (height, swivel, etc), and I appreciate all the additional usb3 ports that work through the hub. Great monitors.
