So, truth time, I actually read Hijinx Harem series a couple of years ago which I enjoyed quite a lot and am thinking more of as the series goes a long so I definitely think I’ll be rereading it once I finish reading this series which I’m enjoying immensely. This series - so addictive!! Firstly - yay for Wes getting past being blocked - finally!!! Secondly - Austin and that sexual tension- OMG Hot! All the guys continue to explore their new magic and their relationship with Kit and each other - all while they're on the run from Omega. But is it just Omega after them?

I can't help but love Kit - she has just the right amount of sass, independence, strength and also vulnerability. She knows her mind, but is also kind, caring and puts her guys needs ahead of her own in the majority of situations.

The ending was messed up though - talk about cliffhanger! Not cool at all, Ms James, to leave us hanging like that. Hopefully the next book isn't too far away as that was a terrible way to leave us hanging.

Can't wait to find out what Wes really is, and also what River is too. Bring on the bonding!

I enjoyed getting more of an insight into Austin, and seeing him and Kit work on their relationship and also magic. Loved her revenge for the tattoo he gave her!
Sam was also hilarious!
I personally felt that there wasn't much character growth with Kit. She was still immature in her dealings with Austin, still does stupid things like running off into the night when her life is at stake, and holds back fighting or using her powers against the bad guys when in tough situations.
I really hope she shows more growth in the next book.
Looking forward to finding out more about Wesley and River!

The vipers nest was really good and hilarious. I enjoyed this instalment in the Kit Davenport series. There are some scenes that are soooo laugh out loud funny that I had people asking what I was laughing at 😂 Ugh! Good story good pace and the cliffhanger wasn’t unbearable. It seems that someone close to Kit is untrustworthy and I feel like my heart is going to be broken in the next book. So I may wait until the final book is released then finish off both books then. Otherwise solid and enjoyable book.

The story continues with Kit and the guys. I loved the relationship development between Kit and Austin. This was overdue and very well written.

I love how the broader story is unfolding and can't wait for book #5.

The series started well, but as the characters and storyline develop it’s getting predictable, and the heroine seems to be getting more idiotic / stupid / careless. I find myself getting frustrated at the idiocy at times, and can only hope the author wraps up the series soon as I’m already committed.
Overall the book straddles the line between ‘good’ and ‘just ok’, but I’m rating this one as I’ve just now finished reading and frustration is still riding high.

When you read the books you don't realise how short time between every obstacle and dilemma, yet Kit hasn't lost her cool yet.
The team is finding a cohesive bonding between them, with Kit as the anker.
The drama and action are building up and we are in for a wild read.
Highly recommended author, book and series.

Kit’s relationships with her 6 men are explored further, and she finally becomes intimate with all of them. There was perhaps too much focus on Austin when I would consider this his twin Caleb’s story, but then again the sexual tension between Kit and Austin is finally released in some very passionate love scenes. Kit remains a strong female lead who isn’t overwhelmed or cowed by 6 alpha personalities, but she’s still mastering her magic and absorbing more when she begins to magically bond to her men.

There is plenty of action and some great moments of humour, plus a sturdier appearance from characters that Kit and her 6 men are right to be wary of. There is also an explosive cliff-hanger that leaves me wondering what will happen next to Kit. Luckily there’s not too long a wait for book 5; “The Crow’s Murder” is due for release at the end of this month. 4½ stars
