Pros:
1. Read and write speed are fast. Both are consistent 120MB/s on a 8gb file transfer. It never dipped.
2. Great for chromecast. I have no 4k media but for 1080p content streaming, it is flawless. Only 4k I tried is a youtube video. A short downloaded 4k video on youtube was streamable on wifi but thats about it. Got 0 knowledge on 4k media so i dont even know if its true 4k.
3. Great device for sharing at home. It is easy to connect the drive to the wifi. Using the mycloud app, configure the wifi it needs to connect to and use 5ghz if you have devices that support it. On 5ghz ac, im able to get 19MB/s read and write a bit unstable. I noticed it fluctuates from 19MBs to 15MBs often.
4. Battery life is decent. I got 7hrs of mix use of file transfer and streaming.
Cons
1. So far nothing yet, just a potential. It's a hdd, just make sure it is stable and doesnt move around when it is on or transferring files.
----------------------
On my test, I was able to get a consistent 120MB/s write speed on my device using my switch alpha 12 with a type c adapter.
Im able to share files if I connected it to my router. You can also encrypt it if you want.
For Android, make sure you got an app like es file explorer (before the version with weird permissions and bloatware) and mx player. Specially if you want to bypass the mycloud app.
Attached are the wireless transfers on android. To sd card image attached is the read speed and to ftp192.168 etc is the write speed from device to hard drive.

I never delete files from my SD cards until I am home again and have uploaded to my laptop and back-up drives so this solution gave me a back-up of my SD cards at the end of every day while travelling. My recent trip was only a week long but I know it will work perfectly on an upcoming month-long trip allowing both back-up and ability to edit & post to social media as I go.
