I’ve had my fair share of dealing with nappy rash on my kids. It tends to go hand in hand with teething which, for some reason, makes their poos like acid. Kid number one was ok with standard sudocrem but kid number 2 is sensitive to a lot of things, and I have tried all the creams with varying degrees of success. Until I found this little gem. It’s amazing. It works quickly to reduce redness. It doesn’t dry the skin out or appear to sting when it’s applied and it can be used as a barrier. If it’s a serious case of sore skin I give a tepid bath with a cupful of oats (in the foot of an old pair of tights knotted to stop them falling out) first. This also works very well for sunburn, rashes and chicken pox itches.
We've used this cream over 4 years on 2 children and it's been fantastic, and we would't consider using anything else! It's very effective as both protection and a moisturiser. The texture is thick and creamy but very smooth, and it can be applied and spread gently without rubbing if necessary. It's very soothing on sore bottoms, and any other irritated skin. The smell is subtle and herbal. I like it. 100% recommended.
Best cream ever for absolutely everything! Worked on both my babies nappy rash like a dream and 15 years later we all still use it for every rash, blemish, sore place, any part of the body, you name it it works! No nasty chemicals, smells nice Hope Weleda never stop making it!
Actually bought this as I had a flare up of psoriasis on my face. I had nothing with me and stuck some of my grand daughters nappy rash cream on and it was marvellous. I then looked online to see calendula is good for skin flare ups so bought my own tube.
I was inspired by all the good reviews, however now that I have used it I cannot really share the excitement. The consistency is nice, the smell is nice, but it sticks into folds and creates a white cement like residue which is impossible to clean or wash away. I used it while I was waiting for my regular nappy cream to arrive and in about 3 days a rash appeared. My baby has eczema too, and unfortunately none of the products by this brand have helped.
Over the past 2 years I have tried most of the creams on the market. I now use this once in the morning and again in the evening and my wee one doesn’t need it at any other time. Historically after a bad nappy when her bottys a bit red I used the yellow metanium and that was applied reasonably regularly. I’ve now used weleda for a year and I think I’ve only used the yellow metanium on 3 single occasions.
The only cream that works for my little one. I've always used metanium and sudocrem without much luck but since they were always recommended I stuck with them. Until my 2yr old had bowel surgery to reverse an ileostomy. Her nappy rash was horrible. Sore, red and bleeding. Metanium wasn't working despite using all the time. Finally decided to try a different one and I came across this. I remember using the stretch mark oil when I was pregnant with my first and it worked so figured I'd give this a go. Withing days the nappy rash was starting to heal. And 2 weeks later she was absolutely fine. Not even a scar. I don't know what it was but this stuff worked wonders. I've now stocked up so we don't run out either at home or nursery. Recommended 100%
Been using on my second child, we use sudocrem on my first and she suffered from bad nappy rash. My daughter is now 2 months old and hasnt had a single problem since we started. Also used this on dry chapped skin for my older girl and its amazing. Still got about 1/4 left and been using every change for 2 months so definitely value for your money. Quite thick so a little goes a long way. Smells delightful. Will be using this permanently now!
I Decided to try the cream on myself first before putting it on my baby and just as well I did... This product stung my hands. It smells very chemically hence me trying it out before I put it on my baby and I am so glad i did.
