Cons: 1) I could not buy more than one unit from the same seller. 2) the ears to hold screws to secure the lock to the wood are thin plastic...broke with a screwdriver 3) the 3m tape is handy, but it's very thin and light and didnt stick to my location (wood), so install was in need of a 3rd hand I didnt have.
Pros: 1) it programs, locks and unlocks like a charm... very handy and does what it says. Price was not terrible.
Overall... it is a working, hidden, keyless lock: what I needed. BUT the combination of pains such as cheap plastic where metal should be (a quick yank will literally break this thing), 3m tape that isnt guaranteed to do its job, And the fact that I have to buy from multiple sellers for each cabinet door really brings down the value. All in all I need this to keep the good guys out. Nor a high security lock and I dont intend to use it that way. That just meets the standard for me this go around.
This thing works amazingly when you open the box and it is sitting on your counter, but the tolerances to mount it are just too tight. Using professional plastic shims that come in specific increments I shim the latch up 1mm and it's still too low, I shim it up 3mm and it's too high, I stack two 1mm shims to shim it 2mm and it's almost perfect but the latch won't swing in. I get the latch to catch and the door is either too loose (obvious movement when you touch it) or it's snug and the lock won't release. You finally get that all worked out and snap the door shut and because you used spring loaded hinges and the batteries come flying out the back of the unit and it is now locked with no batteries in it. I've spent two days trying to make this work.
Update: When shopping on Amazon, we're often dealt with skepticism and legitimacy of various sellers, however, Alan from WOOCH will certainly leave you well taken care of. With my recent experience with Alan, he not only refunded my money despite my going over the allowed time for reimbursement but also insist I keep the item. I made no such request but accepted his offer. As stated in my previous review below, the item worked flawlessly but did not work with my dresser due to its design. I'm extremely satisfied with the customer service that Alan provided and will be a returning customer. Thank you, Alan
The RFID lock package came with a missing screw but everything else came undamaged. The installation was simple enough to install despite the lack of instructions provided. A paper manual with a list of items enclosed in the package along with a customer tip on installation and prior to installation are what is entailed on the one paper. I used the manual for reference but installation is all done with common sense. The end result, I was disappointed as it was not compatible with my drawer. The device worked as described as well as all the provided RFIDs but the design of the lock and placement made it impossible to install onto my furniture. Tip: if you have a stud planted in front of the dresser door from the inside of the structure then this lock may not work because it may cause the prong (the lock) to stick out, therefore, causing the drawer to not close all the way or lock properly. My dresser door could not sit close because of the wooden stud and the length of the prong. I'll be keeping the device to use with some other furniture since I've gone past the return/refund date. All in all, disappointed but hopeful.
It's almost impossible to install on a drawer. The installation diagram is useless. The screws they give you are big and can damage a nightstand. The USB connector wire provided is like 1 foot and if plugged with batteries in the unit you hear an unnerving humming. I spent 3 hours trying to install it. Every part of it should line up perfectly for it to work, I mean in the 1/16 of an inch perfect. I wasn't able to program one of the cards to get it to open, 3 out of 4 not so bad. I don't recommend it for drawers. I do recommend it for cabinets if you can access it from the back. The only way to get it to work perfectly from first try is if you can install both parts while attached. Which is impossible for most people. Yay got it up! After using all my tools and lots of prayer got it work on my twelve try.Mom always said St. Rita is best.
I have been playing with this for a while but have never installed it. Programming the cards seems more difficult than I expected. The emergency power option requires installing a cable and making it accessible before locking the cabinet.
Lining up the lock was a bit of a task. The adhesive strips that came with it to install did not hold even the lock to the cabinet. I ended up buying some gorilla heavy duty strips that worked great. I was only ever able to get one of the key cards to work, but that was all I needed.
Product was easy to install. Instructions were a little hard to follow. I was never able to program more than 1 card and couldn't get the key fobs to program. It served it's purpose but I wouldn't buy again.
Worked wonderfully for a few weeks, no issues. Then it sprung something internally while unlocking one day(heard a weird noise) and that was that. The latch no longer releases under any circumstances. At least it was cheap. I knew the risks at the outset lol
