After 45years of walking a universal path, made up of crazy paving, I have suddenly come to realise that there is a more structured route to life, although, I am still seeking some rational for explaining its meaning and purpose! following some recent trips to Thailand and Myanmar I have taken a healthy interest in Buddhism and Hinduism. It really is a breath of fresh air to have a clear focus in life, and one I can truely give thanks to these faiths for. As a beginner I decide to purchase this book a few months ago, and do not regret it one bit. The book takes you on a days car journey through a traffic jam in Mumbai. The journey is shared by a monk and his close capitalist friend. During the day long car crawling trip across town the Monk takes his friend on an anecdotal spiritual journey, were he explains 4 very simple principles to living a selfless but enriched life.
It is very cleverly written, telling the story of this journey, and how the Monk portrays the concept of spirituality to his friend, however, the genius in this writing is how it is clearly aimed at the reader! The Monk takes you, the reader, through a journey of living a more universal path, with lots of suttle anecdotes, twists and turns, sprinkled with the odd touch of humour, and occassional 'oh yes that is true' moment!
Great read, great author, great price!
