Not in-depth enough

Seems like a bit of a washed down translation of the Sutras, so I'm giving it 2 stars. The basic premise is there, but for those looking for something robust that really dives deep into the translation and context of the Sutras (as there is a LOT to unpack in each Sutra), I'd say go with Edwin Bryant's translation. I felt that this did not do the Sutras justice, and was surprised that this is the one that I was assigned for my Yoga Teacher Training.

Not the ebook version of the paper book. This Kindle version has omitted so much contents of the original paper book that the original 250 pages became only 60 pages in Kindle. This is a cheating, Amazon ! Completely useless. One could be much better to get the free kindle ebook of another Patanjali Yoga Sutra.

The sample and the whole kindle book are 2 separate things. The sample has the sanskrit, sanskrit in Roman alphabet, the translation and commentary. Kindle book does NOT have that. If I could rate this less than 0 stars I would. Buy the physical book.

This is the yoga of the mind (true yoga) laid out in a detail whose depth the reader uncovers further and further over time and dedicated practice to an insecure able degree. The levels of spiritual and psychological understanding and knowledge that Patanjali attained so long ago are at a level of depth of mind that are rarely encountered and are as immense and aid to the meditative practitioner as the Bhagavad Gita, the Nikayas, the Dhammapada and Tibetan book of the dead are and by all means belong on the same shelf on the book case..
