For Smart bulb we need any hub?

A hub is required depends on globe depends on the hub you use I use zigbee items in my house ... light globes and switches with nue hub works great with echo products ... have fun cheers

Depends on the bulb brand. Philips do need a a hub because they operate on a different system to Wifi and Bluetooth, called zigbee. It apparently uses less power. Some bulbs connect directly to the Wifi and don't need a hub.

Not all smart bulbs need a hub. Some operate through wifi, so you need to look for a smart bulb operated with wifi

I use Lifx bulbs without a hub. Hue bulbs need a hub
