The manual suggests it does not record when the car is off. I want to record if someone comes near the car and it's off, is that possible?

It has a sensor so that you can enable it to do that, I haven't done that as my car is always garaged and parked in secure parking facilities when I go out, it also has an auto on if a car hits yours whilst parked. That is only useful if they hit the front area and not the back :)
