I assume it is replace with a new one as the cost of the hub is not that expensive

I’ve used this on Apple and it’s performed well on every plug. Have used the hub to connect a HDMI projector to the I-pad and watched and used several apps and has worked very well.
The I-pad has the c connector so can’t see why it wouldn’t work on any other device with the correct connection.

The device plugs in via USB-C and is compatible with Mac and windows operating systems. As long as you have this port the device should be compatible

you can use HDMI port of this hub to connect another display using HDMI cable. Your monitor need to have HDMI input. I checked with my TV, connect the laptop via the "hub" to TV, i can use TV screen as display. hope this shelp

The surface pro x has 2 USB C ports that this can plug into, and the device should be compatible with your device. I hope this helps
