I am in Australia too. And I won't buy a refurbished HDD again via Amazon UNLESS I know it comes for Australia - but a brand new one, maybe. I would, however, pay the extra to KNOW it is covered her in Australia. I usually buy from Mwave.com.au or a local Parramatta guy. Will not be as its a 3.5" drive, unless the laptop has a 3.5" drive in it which is very unlikely. You need to get a 2.5" to upgrade the existing hard disk on this laptop. Suggest a Solid State Disk instead of the standard rotating disk.

If you google the drive model number ST2000DMZ08/DM008 shows as a 3.5" drive.
