I recently had a brief power outage that was sufficient to disrupt the timer on other devices. After I reset them I went to check on the Echo Show to discover that it had the correct time and that the alarms were still set.

No, it's not like an ipad or phone. It plays content such as Amazon movies but these are streamed from the internet.

It is good quality sound coupled with the ability to view videos and news snippets. If it’s in the kitchen you can also view recipes!

The echo show 5 has a power in a 3.5mm audio outlet and a micro USB.
There is no outlet dedicated to charging mobile devices.
