If by wifi you mean internet connection, yes. You have to connect them to the same wifi that your phone is connected to. However, you cannot control it over internet. Bout if by wifi you mean a wireless network with or without internet access, then no. They do not work over Bluetooth. Sorry, I cant help you but I would be wary of these from Meros anyway. Initially very pleased with set up, function and lighting but in past month, I have had 2 Meros smart globes die on me in rooms where the lights are used perhaps an hour per day so they have died after about 100 hours. I have cheaper no name lights … see more Sorry, I cant help you but I would be wary of these from Meros anyway. Yes, assuming that you have turned it off via app, it means that the actual physical switch is on. Otherwise your app couldn’t have connected to the lamp in the first place. All you need to do is to turn the physical switch off.
