No. Only one device at a time.
you have to disconnect it from one device before connecting to the other.

I have had the exact same problem on all calls or audio routed through my laptop. Don't know the reason but I do hope Tao can arrange a fix like Bose does for firmware updates via the net.

Yes, you can, a single tab on the right earbud will take the volume one level up and a single tab on the left earbud will take it one level down.

If you are lucky enough to hit the touch sensor just right 3 times (right pressure, exact centre, perfectly spaced taps) you MIGHT achieve this occasionally....
