Answer:
Have you tried a hard reset? Put the earbuds on and hold the RHS earbud touch pad for over 13 seconds. You should hear a noise. Then place the earbuds back into the case for 30 seconds. It can take me 20 plus times putting the earbuds in the case to get them to connect and charge.

This is what solved it for me.
