Step 1: Download the Alexa App

The Amazon Alexa App is a companion to your Echo device. Set up your smart home devices, connect with friends and family using Alexa Communication, view shopping lists, get weather and news updates, connect to services you already use like Apple Music, Spotify, and much more*.

Step 3: Set up your Entertainment Services

With Alexa, you can enjoy music and podcasts on Amazon Music, Apple Music or Spotify, listen live to a radio station of your choice or listen to an audiobook on Audible*. And with screen devices, you can use your voice to stream content from Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube.

Link music streaming services:

1.Open the Alexa app.
2.Open More and select Settings.
3.Select Music & Podcasts, and then Link New Service.
4.Select the music service provider* and follow the on-screen instructions.

Link video streaming services on your Echo Show:

1.Go to video home and select from the available video providers.
2.Follow the on-screen prompts to log in with the account information for that provider.
3.Use your voice to play movies, videos, and TV shows from Prime Video and supported streaming services. You can also use common playback commands, like, “Alexa, pause” and “Alexa, play”.

Step 4: Set up compatible Smart Home Devices

Looking to turn your house into a Smart Home? If you have compatible smart home devices like lights, cameras and plugs, Alexa can help by allowing you to voice control.

Before you can connect your Smart Home devices to Alexa, check the following:

1. Check that your smart home device is compatible with Alexa.
2. Complete setup for your smart home device, using the manufacturer's companion app or website.
3. Connect the device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Echo devices.
4. Download and install the latest software updates for your Smart Home devices.

Connect your Smart Home device with the Alexa App:

1. Open the Alexa App
2. Click More and select Add Device.
3. Select the type of compatible smart home device you want to connect.
4. Select the brand and follow the on-screen instructions.
