Update: I got another pair and one has already "died".

Fasgear contacted me about my 2 star review, it seems they didn't read my review and called it a 1 star review and then proceeded to suggest flipping the cable, which I already I tried and stated so in my review. They said the newer versions will be double sided. I refunded and ordered another pair through Amazon, the new adaptors seem to be the newer version where it is USB3.0 on both sides.

First thing I did when I got the replacements was test the transfer speed, sure enough, both sides did USB3.0 speeds. I then tested charging my phone and it did so at 9V. Then I took pictures with it plugged into a phone charger and nothing else connected and the silver one decided to die during it; it now draws about 270mA, heating up when plugged in and not in use and only does USB2.0 speeds regardless of flipping, very similar behaviour to my previous batch. I can still use the silver one to fast charge, but it gets hot quickly. The black one is still working after a couple of days.

When the adaptor works properly and is not "dead", it still draws about 1mA when plugged in but not in use. This current draw isn't high and doesn't cause it to heat up, but it's something to keep in mind when using it with portable devices.

It's great that it's double sided and you don't need to flip the cable, but these die way too easily, 3 out of 4 are now broken. There are others adaptors available that are one sided, but has not died on me and do not draw current when plugged in and not in use.

First review (2 stars):
I bought these because their Fasgear type C cables are good, so I expected these adaptors to be good as well; they are not.
First of all, these adaptors are always drawing about 26mA to 150mA of current when plugged in; this causes them to heat up to an uncomfortable level after a relatively short amount of time (10 minutes?). This happened before I attempted using them (plugged one in, went to get a drink, came back to it being really hot).
They do not support Quick Charge or Power Delivery; I suspect the chip inside can only handle 5V. The item listing does sort of allude to this with "Normal wall chargers", but it is unclear and fast chargers are the norm these days.
I am unable to get these adaptors to do USB3.0 speeds, only USB2.0. Using a different cheaper, unbranded adaptor, I am able to get about 300MB/s from my NVME enclosure to PC, so it is not my setup that is the problem. I am using their Fasgear type C cable and have tried flipping the cable at both ends, but same result; perhaps trying to QuickCharge my phone with it killed it.

Overall the build quality is great, but the functionality is subpar. I will not be using these.
