When I decided to 'smart' up my house, I thought it best to stick to a single brand for plugs, bulbs and LED strip lights to ensure good integration. I also wanted my devices to work well with Google Assistant and IFTTT. TP-Link had the range of products I wanted and I really loved the look of their filament bulbs.
I'm impressed by all the products and it's turned into a bit of an addiction - I now have 12 x HS100 smart plugs, 2 x KL110 bulbs, 8 x KL50 bulbs and 4 x KL60 bulbs.
The filament bulbs are beautiful, with the KL60s perfect for the bedroom and dining, as they give off a warm amber glow. I probably wouldn't use them in a living area, office or dressing room though, as they're very yellow - the KL50s work better for those areas. Similarly, if you have a lamp with a cloth shade, for example, which is going to warm up the light more, go with the KL50 or KL110.
They're easy to set up and the Kasa app has all the functionality you need in terms of scheduling, grouping devices to work together and setting up 'scenes' (where some devices can be turned on and others off). The integration with the Google Home app is brilliant too - seamless and intuitive. All your devices show up in the app, it recognises both bulbs and plugs related to lighting and everything can be turned on and off with a simple voice command. I personally have found it useful to set up 'scenes' in the Kasa app and then use them as part of a Google Home routine.
