After owning device for 9months, it began loudly pronouncing "NOW CONNECTED TO <my phone's name>" during the day and night.
I've contacted technical support who replaced the device, to no change. Their help was not helpful.
Forum postings indicate this problem has existed for years and not been fixed.
Don't buy an echo device if you intend on using it as a bluetooth speaker.
