Originally bought one of these for an elderly parent who cannot use a smartphone or computer. I wanted to do video calls to keep in touch.
It does video calls really well, camera quality isn’t great but it’s still great to use Skype with. Audio quality is pretty good and I can hear clearly.
I liked the echo show 8 so much that I got one for myself to use as a bedside clock and radio. At night the screen dims and I can see the clock clearly without it being annoying like my old alarm clock. I like the Alexa app and how it includes the ability to choose a radio station within the app.
I wish it came with the base as the angle for the camera on a table isn’t ideal. I’ll probably get the base separately. Highly recommended.
