I love this author and after reading the Throne of Glass series I couldn't wait to tackle this new series. With this second book, I finally have what I was looking forward to and expecting from Sarah all along. The first book just felt a little off, maybe a little flat. It was pleasant and easy to read, just not quite what I had come to know from this author. But I'm so happy I stuck it out. This book was soooo much better. And I think it's all down to her main characters differing relationships between the two novels. You can feel the wrongness in the first throughout the first book and maybe that's what just felt a bit off but this book had flow and connection, more of a richness. I also love the depth we get to see of the faerie worlds and the characters within them, as well as the backstory of more of their courts too. Overall, well written and I am very much looking forward to the next piece of the puzzle.
