I have used these binoculars mostly for night time viewing, and find them a good compromise of zoom, weight and clarity. With inexperienced friends I have helped them enjoy the lunar surface, view nebula, split a double star, and see star clusters start to emerge. My 5 year old son has also enjoyed exploring, though a little harder to assist.
Although only 7 times zoom, you'll find that the shakiness of your hands is exaggerated, so prepare to lean back and perch up your arms for some quality viewing.
