Who would have thought that an author of children's stories and detective fiction would be such a contraversial figure. For those who are concerned - I honestly can't see the transphobia here. This is the first story that is really a cold case, rather long winded and with a number of threads bought to a satisfactory conclusion, Robin and Cormoran take on a missing person case, and solve a deadly mystery. I didn't mind the fact that it was a bit lacking in pace compared to the previous "Strike" novels. The space allowed the characters to breathe. It does seem to vere a little on the pedagogical sometimes but Rowling has always been a little that way inclined. Overall I enjoyed following our intrepid detectives and look forward to the next book.
