Exciting story betwen crowned prince and a commoner.. or so we thought..

What a well written first novel. Frost Kay has shown us many emotions throughout Sage and Tehl's sides of the story. Because we see both points of view from them, i wasnt able to hate either for what transpired. Though if we didnt have Tehls side id hate him as much as Sage does.

Sage is a strong independent main character, she shows love and kindness to those whom show the same to her, yet won't hesitate to defend herself, she is strong and fierce when she needs to be. Sage AKA Ruby goes through a horrific ordeal one that even if she wanted to forget the scars and torture, her scarred skin will never allow her to forget.

Tehl is the crowned Prince, he steps in where he can for his father, he loves his people and wants to help where he can. Tehl makes mistake after mistake with "Ruby" starting with his threats and then starving her in a cold prison. But his biggest mistake is unknowingly let a traitor whom thought to be loyal to the crown almost kill Ruby. Serge(traitor) is a sadistic evil man, whom flees once Tahl finds out what happened before he can punish him for his crimes.

Cannot wait for book two. Looking forward to more!!!!!
