Having one of the new Macbook's which don't have traditional USB-A ports can sometimes be a hassle, especially when you want to quickly transfer a file from here to there or vice versa. This dual drive solves that issue and I've found myself using it all the time. It's extremely portable and easy to use. The transfer speeds are also very respectable and I don't find myself getting impatient with it. I've also found it very useful to use with my phone which has a USB-C port.
