I had to buy a new cable to replace this original. I plugged the HDMI into my tv and laptop. It worked for a few days, then stopped. I then unplugged both ends and was going to plug them back in hoping to get the system running again. I found that the end I had plugged into the tv end was breaking. It couldn’t be used so I bought another. I neglected to report the issue to Amazon. I’m sure they would have replaced it. I just felt it wasn’t worth the trouble to complai, upload pix of the broken end etc. The new cable is good, so far. I think the cables are probably good value, but my first one was dodgy.
