I’m giving this product a glowing 4 star review. It would have got full 5 but for the condition it arrived in. The product itself is definitely worthy of the full 5 stars though.

Set up is brilliantly simple. These really are plug and play. The hardest part if finding a power point where you want to put the camera but extension leads pretty much solves that.

The picture quality is very good as is night mode. We have one outside a solid concrete wall and the unit well inside the building. It took a little while to connect but has been solid since. Be patient and it will connect.

The app is good and no monthly fees is simply great. One fixed, very reasonably priced up front fee and that’s it, no more to pay.

The software has lots of options and some smart features like being able to select an alert zone within an image, so say you have your whole garden but only want the path to activate an alert, you simply select the area and only that part of the image will trigger an alert. It is very good. However, the software is not very intuitive but with some playing around you can work it out. I would be nice if they had a video tutorial on how to use all the features,

Pros
True plug and play
Simple to use and set up
Good quality images
No ongoing fees.
Does not use your wifi to connect cameras so you can effectively not have it connected to your network (but you will need to if you want remote monitoring)
Very reliable connection

Cons
The software keep finding firmware updates and when applied it kept deleting the uses I set up.
Don’t know if it’s up to date as still finding firmware updates.
Not much more at this stage.

Summing up, I couldn’t help but feel once I connected it to my wifi that it was re-routing my video feed via Beijing :-) In the very unlikely event China is snooping, there will be not much worth finding. Having said that, I guess I could either not connect it to my wifi or firewall off that system if I could so be bothered to.

Overall, I am very happy so far. It is a great little system with some great features and serves a very good purpose. Exceptional value.

Oh and finally, the packaging arrived like it was used or very poorly packaged...I almost set it back. Box was crumpled, finger prints all over the NVR when I unpacked it, stickers creased and even the plastic bags the power sockets were wrapped in, looked like they had been screwed up and thrown away and then re-opened. it left me feeling very uneasy. Whether this was a return Amazon repackaged or how the manufacturer shipped it in, I am not sure.

Anyway, I highly recommend this product for its easy of use and simplicity.
