Customer Review

Beware the black screen of death with the new Rift S. I'd read that there were some issues with the headset failing to move beyond its black loading screen with elipses, but didn't have any trouble myself for the first few weeks. I've now joined the legion others who had previously enjoyed a working product, only to encounter the same issue. Google it and see for yourself - 'Rift S black screen'.

My ticket with Oculus is only 1.5 days old (without response), but I've read others on threads who have received no support after 3 days. It's sad because the Rift S was a blast to play with. But I've spent almost 10hrs attempting to implement the myriad 'fixes' out there (from uninstalling / reinstalling all USB drivers to repairing the installation and even buying a new PCI-e 4x port USB 3.0 card) and nothing has worked.

The most frustrating thing is that it seems like tens / hundreds / thousands of others have the same issue, but no direction or help from Oculus. Issue first surfaced in the days following launch (23-24 May) but no firmware or Oculus software fix. Very average.
