About Angel Iscovich MD
Conventional wisdom suggests the best way to navigate our noisy new
world is to accept change: Open up to novelty. Go with the flow.
Embrace the relentless pelting of content minute by minute. Dr. Angel Iscovich, aka Dr. I, is here to say this is not the best way to journey through our lives—and in fact, may go against our very nature.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to survivors from World War II, Dr. I
grew up in the shadow of this devastating conflict. Though his
family struggled with little to call their own, he immigrated to the U.S.
where he graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy (Summa Cum Laude) from
the University of Puget Sound before matriculating to the University
of California San Francisco School of Medicine and obtaining his post
graduate training in Psychiatry and practicing as an Emergency Physician.
His interest in leadership, organizational development, and strategy led Dr. I to C-suite positions in the corporate health care sector, as well as chairing Direct
Relief, the top-rated charity in the U.S. Such broad experience affords
Dr. I with a unique view into human behavior, aiding in his continual
search for meaning and purpose in our lives, the subject of his
book: The Art of Routine: Discover how Routineology Can Transform Your Life
(Skyhorse, 2021).
The crux of Dr. I’s book is that humans not only require structure,
they thrive in it. From the womb to the tomb, we create and recreate
numerous dynamic “Time Bubbles,” offering us meaning, fulfillment, and
purpose. Also, implementing routine in one's life can lead to better health, joy, and overall fulfillment.
Dr. I has been featured in many publications, including Forbes and Entrepreneur, and has appeared on The Dummies Podcast and Dr. Drew’s nationally syndicated radio show. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Potentia Analytics, providing healthcare, political, and financial analytics. He is also on the Board of Directors of Office Works, a Healthcare staffing company. An Advisor to DASH Systems, a Technology “Last Mile” Delivery Startup, he previously served as advisor to InTouch Health, a Robotics and Telemedicine Company, acquired by TeleDoc (TDOC).
Dr. I lives with his wife Lisa and their dogs in Santa Barbara, California.
