This book is sadly not as good as their first book. Not as healthy and not as inspiring. Having said that there are some nice recipes so I will keep the book but many of the recipes have sugar and or wheat in them so if your looking for a healthy vegan book this is probably not the one.
I was very excited to hear about this book and read reviews on their previous book and how fabulous the burgers were. The first thing I checked out in this new book was the burger recipes. They say “plant based burger patties or The Big BOSH Burgers from our first book, BOSH!”. So, unless I can find that recipe online it seems I’ll have to buy the other book. I just hope there are not many recipes that refer to the previous book.
I love the authors, their previous book gave me many easy to make meals that were also pretty healthy. Which is why I was disappointed with this one. They give mostly recipes that are much longer to make and it's hard to find easy healthy ones in this book. Much more recommend their previous book, which gave you sections; quick and easy, medium and then longer recipes.
This has an odd style if you're used to using typical cook books, i like a list in sections, but this is a big list and you read the method and work out what to do and chop when as you go. Its not really a beginners book and its high on calories. More treats for one off, so yeah a book just for Christmas. Shame as i had hoped it would be fab. Not typical British fayre tho and some ingredients can be a bit hard to find, we don't all live in london.
Disappointing! I was really looking forward to this but the recipes are quite long winded and lots of them refer to recipes in a previous book. Ok for dipping into on a weekend when you have a bit of time but week night family friendly it is not.
I was excited to get this as a vegetarian toying with veganism. I’ve never eaten meat so I am not looking for a ‘really meaty taste’, ‘that meaty texture’ or even ‘are you craving fish?’. Consequently there are a lot of recipes I can’t bring myself to try.
Although there are some great recipes in this book, I was faintly disappointed that so many of them were vegan versions of recipes I already know how to cook. If I want to eat vegan, I don't want to eat less tasty versions of items on my current menu!
Had huge expectations from one of the "best selling vegan cookbooks" having compared it to several others I think it is somewhat over rated and hyped. Left me feeling slightly let down and unlikely to buy any further Bosh products.
