To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I have been following Erin and her blog for many years and was excited about her cookbook. I remember her introducing me to lentils and bobs red mill.
It is clear she has put a lot of effort into her cookbook and the photos are amazing. As is the food swaps that you will not get in the average cookbook. It also has more of a feel of an online course that has been made to print rather than a classic cookbook. This gives it a modern feel.
However, it is very heavy on nuts which I am allergic to. It also has a lot of recipes that are not gluten free which I wouldn’t expect to see in a healthy cookbook. This probably makes at least half the recipes not suitable.
I also bought this on Amazon uk and was shocked to see no metric. Everything is in cups and no litres, grams etc. There is also no Celsius in the oven temperatures.
Also if you are in uk or au you may struggle to source a lot of the ingredients or understand them.
Another observation is for a healthy cookbook there is no calorie info. I’m not bothered for calorie counts but others may want them.
I am hoping there will be another edition soon with uk measurements and uk recipe ingredients as would love to try these recipes.
The heart and soul of Erin shines through in this well-presented cookbook. The descriptions of the recipes are as fun to read as the enthusiasm that she shows on her Instagram account. I "accidentally" got this book (which was supposed to be a Christmas present) thanks to "Alexa" who informed me, while my partner and I were doing the dishes, that a copy of this cookbook had arrived at my door. After it sitting in the unopened box my partner finally agreed to let me open it. Every recipe that I have tried has been a hit, and despite him being upset with "Alexa" for divulging the Christmas gift he has been lucky enough to be the recipient of about 8 terrific recipes that I've made in one week. "Alexa" has been forgiven and my cookbook has been tagged with many recipes that I want to make over and over including Roasted Beets with Honey Orange Ricotta, Maple Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Arugula and Farro, Thai Peanut Chicken Stir-Fry, Caprese Chicken Skillet, Butternut Squash, Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole, Better-Than-A-Restaurant Baked Cauliflower Parmesan, And variations on Roasted Vegetables ... SO many more are in the lineup for the coming weeks. Cook your way out of this damn Pandemic and get yourself this cookbook!
I’ve managed to cook 6 dishes from this cookbook so far and they have all been amazing!! The only thing that could make this cookbook better than it already is would be to include the nutrition info. I know from looking at each recipe..they are super healthy however I’d love to have the breakdown. That said....buy this cookbook and trust me....you’ll thank yourself!!!
This is the best cookbook. Every recipe is so good. The cookies really are the best!! Erin includes market swaps and for a healthy cookbook the flavors are INCREDIBLE. I have tried so many recipes and not one disappointment. First I bought it in Kindle...then I bought a hard copy ( and as it was sold out for a while in Amazon I drove around town till I found one at Chapters) and when they were restocked I bought one for a friend. (she loves it too.) I hope she does another one.
I have been waiting for this cookbook and when I got in the mail, I immediately read it from start to finish. It does not disappoint!!!
The pictures speak for themselves, but in typical Erin fashion - the recipes are simple and easy to follow, but offer SO much variety in terms of flavour, versatility and accessibility. I’ve had this book 24 hours and I’ve already made two recipes, hello quinoa no-bake granola bars.
I adore Erin and her blog and now adore her cookbook.
Whether you are a seasoned cook like my mama or a newbie like me - this book has it all and because of Erin I have a healthy and exciting relationship with food.
I’m just waiting for the next one ... recommend this book for everyone who loves food!
I can’t say enough good things about this cookbook. I love it love it! I am cooking it out of it each and every day and everything is so yummy and healthy! I actually bought two for my son-in-law‘s birthdays coming up in October. I would recommend this book to anyone. Actually I have been showing it to my clients in my hair salon each and every day. The pictures are wonderful!❤️❤️
