Not as comprehensive as her other baking books, but the recipes are excellent. It's just a somewhat strange collection- not all French as the title would suggest. But Greenspan's recipes are always reliable and she explains steps as well as her mentor, Julia Child.
Dorie has done it again! This book has awesome recipes and great photography..I want to eat the pages just looking at them! I've already made some of the recipes from the book and they've been a hit..my favorite by far is the caralemized cinnamon milk chocolate tart, yum!
The only reason why I didn't give the book 5 stars is that I thought it could have been edited somewhat better. In a few of the recipes the instructions are a bit unclear or appear to be missing something. My results still turned out great though, you just have to use your common sense.
Dorie Greenspan has the best recipes. Her books are easy to follow and offers many suggestions for the same recipes. This was a great addition to 3 other books I own from Ms. Greenspan. However my all time favorite is her Baking cook book. It contains more everyday breads, cookies, cakes recipes that I make often.
my wife loves the Baking Chez Moi: Recipes from My Paris Home to Your Home Anywhere cookbook. We have both the Kindle edition and the hardcover book. She loves the pictures and has tried several of the recipes and is very satisfied. If my wife was not satisfied we would not have two versions of this cookbook.
I purchased this because Dorie Greenspan's "Baking" cookbook is my favorite dessert cookbook. I have only made one recipe from this one; the Custardy Apple Squares were simple and delicious and will be one of my favorites from now on. I expect to discover more wonderful desserts in this book, but I probably won't try anything until I've recovered from my recent bout of holiday baking. If I could only have one, I would stay with her previous baking book because of its wide range of receipes - her cheesecake is my favorite - but this one has some intriguing recipes that have could become favorites.
