I could sit and watch Jamie Oliver all day however this book isn't for the simple cook. The recipes are detailed and the ingredients sometimes out of the ordinary, however without them flavour would be compromised and Jamie wouldn't be doing what he does best. Not my favourite cook book but would recommend if you have the time and commitment to put the effort in making the meals.
I love this book. As some other reviewers said it does have some ingredients that are hard to get (particularly outside of the UK), however so far I was able to either find a subsitute on line, or make my own (like in the case of harissa, which I had never heard of). The final result of the dishes that I have made were so flavourful and satisfying that they will be made again and again. Sometimes they were so good we forgot that they are so healthy. I am glad I purchased this and look forward to making many more delicious meals from this book.
Love all of Jamie's books. This one was very good. I expected it to be a departure from his usual cooking, and it is as expected. He kept it quite main stream which is no harm if it gets us all thinking about eating healthier. If you want to go the whole hog, so to speak, Madeline Shaw, the Hemsley sisters and Roz Purcell go all out on the healthy stuff too. I love this book as I do like Jamie's approach to his recipes.
Great recipes and easy to follow. Have given us sone new ideas for meals, particularly at weekends. Found the breakfasts particularly best for weekends as time is tight on a work day morning. Bought from a market place seller and pages had some turned corners so wasn't in as good a condition as advertised.
I have tried a couple of Jamie Oliver Everyday Super Food, The first one was not really to my taste, undaunted I tried another, which I enjoyed, so in conclusion, give the recipes a go. You will never know, but I like the whole book. Some ingredients used can be more costly than what you would normally require. There is a lot of adjustment for one person. So be warned.
Some really nice recipes in this book with highlight calories etc. makes you think about your daily food intake in calories form. Nice photos and and very easy to follow. Some need more ingredients which I would not personally have in my cupboard but other than that a really good book.
Another new cookery book to add to my collection. Jamie has made me think of some different meals that are healthy. Not tried many yet, but what I have tried is very tasty. Definitely recommend the savoury popovers - it's got me eating cottage cheese for a start, and I think these are good for a light lunch even though Jamie serves them for breakfast.
I ordered this book especially to help my wife with her health as she has a degenerative condition and i thought eating recipes containing superfoods would help her.The only problem i have with some recipes is the price of the ingredients but as long as you can shop around to get the best price or wait for offers then you should be fine.Overall though id say this is a great book
