How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

2.0 out of 5 stars Book fell apart

I would give this more stars for the recipes in this book but my rating is low for the quality of the book itself. A third of the book pages fell apart from the book when I was looking for one of the recipes. The book is useless now.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a meal prep book but a book with cooking and freezing instructions.

This is not a book of freezer meals. This is a book of teaching you how to cook a meal and then prepare it for the freezer. I thought I was getting a book of recipes that I could prep quickly and toss in the freezer ... these require more legwork and actual cooking in advance. Most of the freezer instructions are “wrap in plastic wrap tightly and freeze” which makes this much closer to a cookbook than a freezer meal prep book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book, horrible construction.

I love the recipes in this book and all the work she did to make making large batches of a certain recipe easier. This girl went all out! Very detailed explanations and delicious results. My only quarrel is that this is the second book I've received where the pages easily tear out. Almost like its perforated right at the binding. I returned one immediately upon arrival and got a new one that seemed sturdier but now that I've used it a couple times I'm continuously having to tape the pages back in. Annoying and not something I want to deal with when im flipping back and forth between recipes. Otherwise it's be a 5 star rating.

2.0 out of 5 stars It’s seriously NOT that good.

I love cooking and I know a good recipe when I find one. I was hoping to add to my freezer meals, but this makes me far from excited. This recipe book; it’s seriously not that good. It’s very basic with flavor and I haven’t found anything special in it yet. I have had to add or twist so many of the recipes, such as the Alfredo Sauce (it’s horrible in this book).

That headline just said it all.
Tried multiple recipes; none have that much flavor. I've been freezing meals for years. Love the concept and convenience. But if you don't want to eat the meals, then it's very INCONVENIENT to have to replace them. As other reviewers mentioned, the real results don't look like the photos for many of the recipes. And the taste... Well... Meh.

I was not as impressed as I wanted to be. I’ve be doing freeezer meals for 10 years and thought this book would be a good additon to my collection. The first two recipes we tried were not good! No flavor.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap binding/book falling apart
Reviewed in the United States on 1 July 2019

I ordered the paperback version of this book just over a year ago. Since then, I have used it several times, but not as an everyday cookbook. Although I like the recipes, the book is cheaply bound and despite careful use about a dozen pages have fallen out. Even paperback books should be able to hold up under normal use without falling apart.
