How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some good recipies, but very american

I didn't realise that this cookbook was American when I bought it. Most recipes are fine, but there are a handful with ingredients which aren't widely available in the UK. There is also a recipe involving sweet potato, sugar, and mini-marshmallows, which has to be the most vile sounding side dish I have ever encountered.

There are also a number of meals, which are maybe quite tasty, but I'd hesitate to feed to my kids on a regular basis - e.g. hash brown casserole, and lots of recipes with a lot of cheese, cream, etc.

There are good tips on freezing food that can be extended to other meals, however, so I have kept it for that alone, and there are a handful of recipes I will try.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frozen leftovers, not true freezer meals

Beautiful book and photos, but most or all of the recipes are cooked first before freezing. To me, the idea of freezer meals is to do only the prep before freezing (unless it's sheperd's pie or something) so it's not much work in the front-end, and then you still enjoy a freshly cooked meal. This is just frozen leftovers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed response to the meal quality presented

Overall the book has good information, however my adult daughters who received it shared that the recipes were not as good as they had hoped, they moved on to other books and online sources. So for us, not a great find.

So I’ve tried two recipes: California breakfast casserole which was good, and the freezer pancakes which were nasty. Now I’m kind of skeptical about a book that doesn’t have a good pancake recipe…..

3.0 out of 5 stars I would give it 5 stars if the book binding was quality

I bought this book a couple of weeks ago. I have made quite a few freezer recipes from it in the last 2 weeks and so far all of them are very tasty. Most of them use a little more sugar than I expected, I may want to cut that back, but the book is falling apart already. That is the biggest problem. I am so upset about it. I have been taping it each time I use it. A cookbook should be sturdy enough to go to the recipe several times. It should not fall apart as you use it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book, bad binding

It's got good content but the actual book is not very good. I've had the book for maybe three weeks and the pages are already starting to fall out. Publisher should've sprung for better binding.

The book was folded when arrived. The box was badly damaged. However the vinyl record that come with it was ok.
Otherwise, it is a good book.
