I loved this audio book. It Drilled right down into the primary drivers behind these two and why they fell so hard and fast for each other. I had thought that I knew all there is to know on the BRF, but Lady C’s insightful book proved me wrong. It’s a fascinating educational expose on the RF and the world of the British aristocracy & their perception of Ms M.
My only negative- and it was a big one, was the way Lady C constantly shreds P Diana. She obviously didn’t like it when PD bumped Lady C for writing a book she felt was unfairly tilted in P Charles’ favour. I found it gratuitous and offensive to Constantly compare Meghan with P Diana, who is a far kinder, more genuinely committed humanitarian that got poorly treated by the BRF & is not here to stand up to a raft of negative claims littered throughout this book. P Diana was a child still when she unwittingly married an ‘ unavailable’ Husband, Ms M is 40 P, has the love of her Prince and an anti Royal agenda. The frequency with which Lady C shreds Diana was very off putting for me personally. That said, if you really enjoy understanding multiple dynamics connected to this foolish couple, how they really came to meet & what they stand to loose, Then this is The Quintessential Book to reach for.
A very sycophantic boring book, written purely for making money. Annoyingly it has American spelling throughout - I guess that's where its' sales are aimed. If you are British and read the British newspapers, there is nothing in this book you won't have already read several times before. I have been conned.
This is really not much of a biography. There is a great deal of repetition and most of the information can be gleaned from the Internet. The author goes quickly and chronologically through Harry's life and dashes over Meghan Markle's years with very little insight or new perspective. It is supportive and almost fawning in writing style and some of it is actually incorrect. I am from Canada (Toronto) and when I read that our Prime Minister's wife was "first lady" I was quite surprised - news to me that Canada has a first lady! All the quotes are from sources that have spoken publicly already so I learned nothing new. The glossy pictures are nice - but again - nothing new. So if you want a rehash of information on Harry and Meghan put together in a neat summary, spend the money. If you want to know what a true biography looks like, get Julia Baird's outstanding book - Victoria - The Queen. This 'biography' is entertaining fluff.
A lovely, well written book about Harry and Megan's love story, and who doesn't like to read about something so heartwarming? I'm so glad Harry has finally found the right one to settle down with, and I for one wish them all the luck in the world.
The book describes a lot of Harry's life up to meeting Megan and the author has done a great job, writing about him sensitively.
