To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This book made me want to find the author and give her the biggest, most grateful, squeeze everything out of her, hug. I have wondered my whole life why I seemed to be more affected than those around me by pretty much everything. I've felt different and weird because I can sense things and at the same time take action and continue to process much more than it seems everyone else is around me. I finally learned about HSPs earlier this year and when I heard about this book on Dr. Lisa A Romano's YT channel, I bought it straight away.
It's packed with incredibly useful information from getting to know yourself and understanding what it means to be an HSP to how to handle the inevitable overwhelm of being this type of person. I am ensuring narcissistic abuse at work and recently had to make the decision to go no contact with my entire family and this book has helped me validate that what I am experiencing is real and that I am not simply "too sensitive."
The acronyms and suggestions and practical techniques are so valuable - I think this book is worth more than the 3 years of therapy I've already completed in my journey. I always buy paper books so I can underline them with a pencil - this one has underlines and symbols and comments and earmarks throughout. When I move, travel, or visit someplace long-term, this will be one my essentials to bring with me. Absolutely incredible resource and it contains many many more inside to look into to further my development. Could not be more pleased.
This book gives you strategies of how to deal with toxic people. It gives an example of a specific toxic person and then shows you ways to deal with the person. Highly recommend it to anyone struggling right now.
