I only recently discovered Rachel Mansfield and am so glad I did. Our shared love of peanut butter and dark chocolate, combined with the desire to find healthy twists and primarily consume wholesome foods, made this book an instant hit for not just me, but my entire family. It's rare that every recipe in a cookbook appeals to me, but I can honestly say that is the case with this one. I have already made a few, and also discovered her blog, and every recipe has been a hit. I especially love that most recipes involve the same ingredients, so a pantry overhaul is not at all needed, but substitutions are also often included.
I absolutely LOVE this book! It’s packed with tons of healthy recipes!! I’ve found healthy versions of some of my all time favourite foods. I’ll definitely be purchasing a few more books for friends & family for the holidays😍
A+ on how the book looks. It was beautiful and I looked forward to turning the pages for each new recipe! Recipe-wise I love this book. I've followed Rachel on ig on and off over the years for great recipes. If I'm looking for gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, and other dietary restriction recipes that are going to be simple and taste really good, Mansfield is my go-to. I love that she's advocating for fewer kitchen gadgets, simple recipes, and clean foods that taste good.
My reason for the 3-star rating is for the language that goes into descriptions/reasons/rationales for eating "clean". A lot of the personal tangents in this book read like an orthorexia manifesto and I had to stop reading. Humans should be able to eat food that makes them feel good, end of story. I wish there had been more recipes (again, they're great!) and less lifestyle/personal conversation.
Will keep this book but as a human who works in health care/fitness related industries, I won't share or recommend this book because it was triggering for disordered eating.
Mansfield has saved me when I needed to bring tasty, allergen friendly foods to potlucks and I would recommend this book for the recipes.
I’ve been a follower of Rachel for a couple years now. She’s by far one of my favorite bloggers because she’s so incredibly authentic and genuine in everything she does. I was so excited when she put out her first cookbook!
Rachel doesn’t follow any one way of eating but her focus is on quality - of ingredients and taste. Mostly paleo, vegan and grain free, her recipes offer up endless tasty options for freaking delicious meals. And, I love her perspective on adding nut butter and chocolate to almost anything!
Rachel’s recipes are simple with ingredients you can easily find. Throughout the book, she gets vulnerable and shares personal stories of her life, giving you a glimpse into her real world beyond just what’s on the plate.
I’m obsessed with her banana bread, but her cookies are a must try. As someone who cooks for 1, the solo meals chapter is a gift to my meal planning. I’m always sharing her recipes with friends and I hope that you decide to give this book a try. Happy eating!
First off, I have a lot of cookbooks and I am really picky when I go to purchase a cookbook but this one has taken the (gluten-free) cake! Rachel has put together such a comprehensive book that is beautifully designed with even better recipes. I already have this propped up in my kitchen because its so nice to look at!! I've been in need of a good refresh on my food prepping and breakfast ideas so I am thrilled that this book has (OVER) delivered in terms of usable, easy, healthy recipes. I would say this is a go to for anyone just starting out with healthy cooking or college students. It's very accessible and you only need some key staples to get started. I already have looked at every recipe in the book and there is such a variety of everything and every recipe has some sort of unique twist unlike anything I normally make! Rachel's blog is a great tool with equally amazing recipes but this book is so much easier to use. I'll never run out of ideas again!! I've already recommended this book to three people I know and this is exactly what you are missing if you are debating! I hope this is Rachel's FIRST not LAST cookbook! JUST BUY IT!
This is my favorite cookbook! I love how you keep using the same ingredients so you don't have to go out and buy expensive ingredients that you'll only use one time. You can prep almost anything in 10-20 min. As a new mama this is a must for me. The best part is everything tastes delicious and doesn't have a yucky "healthy" taste where you feel like you're eating a knock off version. Don't think twice and just buy it!!!
I am beyond thrilled to finally have this book in my hands!! So many great recipes that are chock full of nutrient dense foods and also guilt free! I cannot wait to make many of these delicious recipes which seem super easy to make!!
I have been following Rachel for several years now. I LOVE every recipe of hers that I have made. This book is absolutely amazing with so many recipes I can not wait to make. This book is jam packed with info and food to make your stomach full and your heart happy!
