Cons: It is paperback. I should have read details better. Hardback would be much better . Paperback feels very flimsy and will damage quickly with use. The edges were already scuffed on arrival. The paper is thin and you can see both the printing of ingredients etc and your writing on the other side. Pros: The layout is clear and well spaced with enough room for writing the recipes.
For ages I have wanted to put all of my families (especially my grandparents) recipes altogether in a special way and a notebook never seemed perfect enough. This paperback book is literally everything I was looking for and more! It has plenty of pages and even has small extra touches that I wouldn't have even thought of adding if I just wrote them down on paper. I can now have somewhere I can collect al my recipes and even have something to pass down to future children!
This really is my favourite recipe book. I have bought a few different ones over the years, and even though they were ok, something was not quite relight for me. This little book has a lovely layout, plenty of space even for recipes with a large ingredient list and sufficient space for the “Instrusction”. The index pages at the very front of the book is very convenient ^^
Last year, over lockdown and because I work late shifts every other week, my boyfriend started cooking more. Before we were together, he didn't cook at all, but now he is becoming more and more interested in it. As he progresses, he told me that he wanted to have a book to put the recipes which he has tried, so that he can easily refer back to them - he finds a lot of the recipes that he would like to try on Sunday Brunch, so this was an easy way to take them from their instagram page to his own book. He has had this particular recipe book for a little while now, and overall, he is really pleased with it. It has a soft cover, and because of the size, it is easy to use in a book stand, for you to follow as you cook. At the beginning there is a table of contents, so that you can list which recipe appears on which page, for easy reference. For each recipe, there is an ingredient section at the top, with directions underneath. To the right of the recipe, there is detail for you to rate how difficult it is, how many people it serves, cooking time, suggestion for which wine (or other drink to serve it with), notes and an overall rating for the recipe. At the end of the book, there is a useful guide for measurements and oven temperatures (so, for example, 250 F is 120 C and a very cool oven). Overall, you can record 100 recipes in this book. The only possible downside to this book is that if you had a complicated recipe, the space for the directions may not be quite enough, meaning that you may either have to utilise two pages for it, or potentially break it down into separate parts. My partner is really happy with this, and I am pretty sure that once he finishes this one, he would quickly buy another.
Really cute little book. Would have been better if it was hard back. Something to keep for years but I would imagine the paper back will get damaged/torn over the years. Mine is already a little bent. It’s got all the conversions and little bits to write ingredients in etc then the method. I love it. Would defiantly recommend for a baking/cooking freak
It's got good quality paper that takes most ink pretty well, it's cute in a functional way and small and light enough for me to take with me when I go other places I'm likely to cook. The index at the front is useful too. My only complaint would be that there could be one line or two less for ingredients and more for directions because it can get pretty crampt on more complex recipes, but that's it really. If you want a recipe book that isn't massive and OTT it's a great choice.
Arrived spot on delivery date, no issues, good quality, pages are numbered, accommodating a recipe for each page, a section for the ingredients and a separate one for the booking method. the nice touch on this, is that one each recipe page, it had quick reference images which you can mark to rank ease of cooking, prep time etc.. like a published cook book, would recommend this. also makes a nice gift idea
