To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The insertable portion of the 3.5mm mini toslink is slightly longer than it should be. If you insert it all the way, the audio cuts out. You have to leave it about 2mm from fully plugged in for it to work. It's annoying, and easy to knock out.
I struggled with settings on my AV receiver for hours, yes literally hours, thinking that I was missing something in the setup or configuration just trying to get audio from my TV to my receiver that didn't support ARC. Eventually, I discovered that the cable was the culprit. The cable had to be arranged/aligned just so in order to work. If the cable gets bumped or moved, the audio cuts out. Not great, and wishing that I had spent more $$ to get a cable that didn't cost me an evening.
The only reason I am giving this a 2 star is because customer service was so nice when we went to return the product. I guess you get what you pay for with this product. Had it to hook my stereo to the TV and it worked perfectly for about a week, then the family sat down to watch a movie and boom, no sound. Refunded with no problems and the sellers were very quick to respond and help me with everything. Time to try another cable!
I bought this in the hopes that I would run it behind the wall and leave it there. but now, after a year the laser light has dimmed when I compared it to another optical cable I had lying around, which says to me that there is not enough power going through it for my receiver to pick up. So now I have to buy another one and snake that one through the wall while removing this busted one. sux.
